Today is a seminal day: All research for my play Luther is ended after more than a year . Now I just write, with only a lookup for facts when needed. A typical scenario for any of my historical plays. On Luther, I have concluded that he is the most brilliant character I have ever written about(including Lincoln, Teresa of Avila, King David and St. Paul among others)and that he was totally uncorrupt. However he had more in common with Osama Bin Laden than Jesus of Nazareth, calling for the slaughter of both Jews(who did not convert) and rebellious peasants. A challenge to write this, not miss the mark, and provide an evening of entertainment at the same time.
